verb  (past and past participle swayed, present participle sway·ing, 3rd person present singular sways)
Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb swing: to swing back and forth, or cause something to do this

2. intransitive verb lean over repeatedly: to lean or bend to one side or in different directions in turn

3. transitive and intransitive verb waver between opinions: to go back and forth between two or more opinions, or make somebody do this

4. transitive verb influence somebody: to persuade or influence somebody to believe or do something ( usually passive )
