1. somebody in charge: an administrator or manager of something such as an office or school system

2. janitor: somebody in charge of the maintenance of a building

3. high-ranking police officer: in the United Kingdom and Canada, a police officer of a rank above inspector, and in the United States a police officer of high rank, especially the head of a police department
