intransitive verb 
Definition:
 
1. diminish in intensity: to become less active or intense

2. drop to lower level: to sink to a low or lower level

3. sink to bottom: to sink to the bottom of a liquid

4. gradually sit or lie down: to sink into a sitting or lying position, e.g. out of exhaustion ( formal )
