Definition:
 
1. shock somebody: to shock, upset, or amaze somebody
a tragedy that stunned the nation

2. make somebody unconscious: to make a person or animal unconscious for a short time with a blow or drug

3. overwhelm sense: to overwhelm one of the senses, e.g. with loud noise or very bright light
