Definition:
 
1. more advanced in age: of a more advanced age

2. higher in rank: of higher rank or having longer service or employment than another
Everyone on the committee is senior to me.

3. belonging to earlier generation: used to distinguish the elder of two members of the same family with the same name from the younger person of that name

1. person of greater age: somebody who is older than somebody else

2. higher-ranking person: somebody who ranks higher than somebody else or has worked in the same place longer
