verb  (past and past participle stirred, present participle stir·ring, 3rd person present singular stirs)
Definition:
 
1. transitive verb mix ingredients: to move a liquid around with a spoon, stick, or other implement in order to mix or cool the contents
Slowly stir the cream into the soup.

2. intransitive verb be able to be stirred: to be of a consistency that allows a spoon or other implement to be moved around
