Definition:
 
1. graphic arts paint something by dabbing: to paint, draw, or engrave something using dots or short dabbing strokes

2. graphic arts apply paint with dabbing strokes: to apply paint or another substance in dots or short dabbing strokes

3. make surface material appear grainy: to give something such as wet paint or plaster a rough grainy texture with dabbing strokes
