Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb weaken or die because of hunger: to weaken or die through lack of food, or cause somebody to do this
The besieged city was starved into submission.

2. intransitive verb be hungry: to be very hungry ( informal )
I'm starving! What's for dinner?

3. transitive verb deprive somebody: to deprive somebody or something of something vitally needed
