Definition:
 
1. first course of meal: a first course of a meal, or something suitable to be eaten as a first course of a meal

2. mechanical engineering starting device for engine: a device for starting a machine or engine, especially an electrically operated device that causes the internal-combustion engine in a motor vehicle to fire

3. sports somebody signaling start of race: somebody who gives the signal for a race to start
