Definition:
 
1. headlong rush of animals: an uncontrolled headlong rush of frightened animals

2. headlong surge of crowd: an uncontrolled surging rush of a crowd of people

3. sudden rush of people doing something: a sudden rush of many people all doing or wanting to do something at the same time
There was a stampede to take advantage of the low prices.

4. festival including rodeo: in the western United States and especially in Canada, a celebration, usually held annually, that includes a rodeo along with contests, exhibitions, dancing, and entertainment ( regional )
