Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb delay with hesitation or evasion: to delay or obstruct somebody, or use delaying tactics

2. intransitive verb sports unduly prolong possession of ball: in a football or basketball game, to prolong holding the ball when in the lead so as to use up time and prevent an opponent from scoring
