1. plant stem: the main stem or axis of a plant that is fleshy rather than woody

2. supportive part of plant: a supporting part of a plant, e.g. a leaf stem petiole or flower stalk pedicel

4. slender structural part of animal: a slender supporting structure for an organ or body of an animal
