Definition:

large horse-drawn coach: a large four-wheeled horse-drawn coach formerly used to carry passengers and mail over a regular route

Cultural Note

Stagecoach, a movie (1939) by John Ford. Considered the first modern Western, it portrays an encounter between a diverse group of stagecoach passengers and an intimidating outlaw, the Ringo Kid (played by John Wayne).
