1. circular arrangement of flowers: a circular arrangement of flowers or greenery placed as a memorial on a grave, hung up as a decoration, or put on somebody's head as a sign of honor

2. representation of wreath: a representation of a circular arrangement of flowers, vines, or other things, e.g. in a carving or on a coat of arms

3. circular shape: a hollow circular shape formed by something such as smoke

Spelling Note

wreath or wreathe? Do not confuse the spelling of wreath and wreathe. Wreath is a noun, meaning "a circular arrangement of flowers or greenery" or "a hollow circular shape," as in lay a wreath at the base of the monument, wreaths of smoke. Wreathe is a verb, meaning "encircle," "intertwine," or "coil": Mist wreathes the mountains in the early morning.
