Sreb·re·ni·ca [ srèbbrə ntsə ] town in Bosnia-Herzegovina, southeastern Europe, situated between Sarajevo and Tuzla. Declared a Muslim enclave during the Bosnian-Serbian-Croatian War from 1991 to 1995, it was invaded by Serb troops and subsequently placed under international protection. Population: 37,211 (1991).
