Definition:
 
1. intransitive verb make popping sound: to make a popping, spitting sound

2. intransitive verb speak explosively: to make sounds or pronounce words in an explosive way, especially when angry or excited

3. intransitive verb spit out food and saliva: to spray out drops of saliva or food particles, especially when talking or laughing while eating

4. transitive and intransitive verb physics remove surface atoms by ion bombardment: to cause, or experience, an effect in which the atoms of a surface are removed through bombardment by ions, e.g. in cathode evaporation in a discharge tube

5. transitive verb physics use metal to coat something: to use metal removed by the process of sputtering to coat something
