transitive and intransitive verb  (past and past participle spout·ed, present participle spout·ing, 3rd person present singular spouts)
Definition:
 
1. discharge jet of something: to discharge a substance forcibly in a jet or stream, or be discharged in this way

2. zoology discharge air from blowhole: to discharge air and water through a blowhole

3. talk at great length about something: to talk about something tediously and at great length, usually with no regard for the listener's interest
