Definition:
 
1. something audible: something that can be heard

2. vibrations sensed by ear: vibrations traveling through air, water, or some other medium, especially those within the range of frequencies that can be perceived by the human ear. At sea level and freezing point, the speed of sound through the air is 1,220 km (760 mi) per hour.
