1. smeared ink or paint: a patch of smeared ink or paint blurring what has been written or painted

2. dirty mark: a dirty or greasy mark

3. indistinct area: something visible, but blurred or indistinct, and not easily identifiable

4. agriculture smoke or fire: smoke produced to protect trees from frost or insect damage, or a fire that produces such smoke
