verb  (past and past participle smashed, present participle smash·ing, 3rd person present singular smash·es)
Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb break something into pieces: to break something into many small pieces, or be broken in this way

2. transitive and intransitive verb break something with force: to break something with great force or violence, or move violently so as to break something

3. transitive and intransitive verb hit something forcefully: to hit something with great force, or make something do this

4. transitive verb defeat or destroy something: to ruin, defeat, or put an end to somebody or something completely
