Definition:
 
1. transitive verb business charge lower amount than somebody: to charge less for something than somebody else

2. transitive verb reduce something's force: to undermine something or detract from its force ( often passive )

3. transitive verb cut lower part of something: to cut away or cut into the lower part of something, especially in a way that leaves a portion overhanging

4. transitive and intransitive verb sports hit ball with backspin: to hit a ball with a downward oblique stroke so that it has backspin, e.g. in golf or tennis
