Definition:
 
1. coat beneath final paint coat: a coat of paint or emulsion applied to a surface before a top coat is applied

2. paint to be covered: paint or emulsion designed to be used as an undercoat

3. zoology short hairs under animal's coat: a dense layer of short hairs, fur, or wool beneath the longer growth of an animal's outer coat

4. automotive
