Definition:
 
1. twelve-month period from January 1: a period of 365 days (or 366 in a leap year), measured from January 1 to December 31

2. twelve-month period from any date: a period of 365 or 366 days, measured exactly or approximately from any date

3. solar year: the time it takes Earth to orbit the Sun, approximately 365.25 days
