Definition:
 
1. land around house: the area of land immediately surrounding a house, often covered with grass or landscaping

2. enclosed paved piece of land: an area of ground that is usually paved and enclosed, and is next to or surrounded by a building or buildings
a prison yard

3. area used for business or activity: an area of ground, sometimes with associated buildings, used for a particular purpose ( often used in combination )
