Definition:
 
1. intransitive verb plod: to walk slowly with great effort
How long did it take us to slog up that mountain?

2. intransitive verb work long and hard: to work at something for a long time with little progress
They've all been down at the office, slogging through endless reams of paperwork.

3. transitive verb make your way: to make your way through something with great difficulty
