Definition:
 
1. member of Native N American people: a member of a Native North American people who lived in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa and who now live mainly in Oklahoma. The Sauk joined with the Fox to fight in the Black Hawk War of 1832, following U.S. attempts to move the Fox from their lands in Illinois.

2. Sauk language: the Algonquian language of the Sauk people, related to Fox
