Sar·a·to·ga Springs [ sàrrə tōgə spríngz ] city in eastern New York, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, north of Albany. Two battles were fought in its vicinity during the American Revolution. A major health resort and horseracing center, it is home to Skidmore College. Population: 28,499 (2006).
