1.  (plural Sam·o·yeds or Sam·o·yed) member of Siberian people: a member of a people living in northeastern European Russia and western Siberia

2. language of Samoyeds: the group of Uralic languages spoken by the Samoyed people, related to Finno-Ugric. Native speakers: 35,000.

3. Siberian dog: a dog with a thick creamy white coat, distinctive ruff, and tightly-curled tail, belonging to a Siberian breed
