1. somebody living in place: a permanent or long-term dweller in a place

2. doctor completing residency: a doctor or surgeon engaged in a residency

3. somebody living in residential situation: somebody who lives in a nursing home, children's home, retirement home, or other communal housing

4. diplomat: a diplomatic official based in a foreign country

5. U.S. local organizer of intelligence agency: a member of a government intelligence-gathering agency who lives in and oversees operations for the agency in a foreign country
