Definition:
 
1. recurring piece of verse: a line or group of lines that recurs at regular intervals in a poem, especially at the ends of verses

2. chorus: the chorus in a song, or the music that accompanies it

3. melody: a melody or tune

4. something repeated often: something that is frequently repeated, e.g. a saying or an idea

[14th century. < Old French, past participle of refraindre "to repeat" < assumed Vulgar Latin refrangere, alteration of Latin refringere (see refract)]
