ram·ble [ rámb'l ]


intransitive verb  (past and past participle ram·bled, present participle ram·bling, 3rd person present singular ram·bles)
Definition:
 
1. talk or write aimlessly: to talk or write for a long time, not always keeping to the intended subject or tending to change the subject
The speaker rambled on for over an hour.

2. walk for pleasure: to go for a walk for pleasure, usually in the countryside and sometimes without a fixed route in mind
He had spent a week rambling through the villages of the Apennines.

3. follow changing course: to have, follow, or proceed along a winding or often changing course
The path rambled though the fields down to the river.

4. grow in random way: to grow in random directions, usually covering a sizable area in the process
Vines rambled all over the low stone wall.
