Definition:
 
1. somebody authorized in profession: somebody who has been granted a license to practice or teach a profession or skill

2. license: the license granted a licentiate
He has a licentiate in music.

3. academic degree: a degree awarded by some European universities that ranks one step below that of a doctorate

4. somebody with licentiate degree: somebody holding the degree of licentiate

5. Presbyterian preacher: somebody licensed to preach but not perform the sacraments in a Presbyterian church, usually a trainee minister who has not yet been ordained
