1. accompany somebody: to accompany somebody on a trip
I went along just to keep her company.

2. follow another's lead: to follow the lead of somebody else
When she suggested that they study Chinese before the trip, he went right along.

3. develop in particular manner: to develop or progress in a particular manner, especially favorably ( informal )
Things were going along reasonably well until she lost her job again.
