1. transitive and intransitive verb finish doing something: to take further action as a consequence or extension of a previous action, especially to continue something through to completion

2. intransitive verb continue motion of swing or throw: in a sport, to continue the movement of an arm or leg past the point of contact or of release after hitting, throwing, or kicking a ball or other object
