Definition:
 
1. store something for future: to store something for future use

2. confine somebody with injury or illness: to prevent somebody from leading a normal active life, usually temporarily because of injury or illness ( usually passive )
He was laid up with a bad back.

3. stop using ship or boat: to take a ship or boat out of service, usually temporarily, e.g. by moving it to a dry dock for maintenance or repairs
