Definition:
 
1. transitive verb maintain present level of something: to maintain something at its present level
Keep up the good work.
That's excellent. Keep it up.

2. intransitive verb stay even: to go as fast or make the same progress as somebody else

3. transitive verb maintain something in good condition: to make sure that something stays in good condition
has a beautiful home but doesn't really keep it up

4. transitive verb not let somebody go to bed: to prevent somebody from sleeping or going to bed at night
The music from the party kept us up till dawn.
