transitive verb 
Definition:
 
1. compel to take in nourishment: to make people or animals swallow food against their will, e.g. by putting it directly down their throat through a funnel or tube. Animals may be force-fed to fatten them up, and people who refuse to eat may be force-fed to keep them alive.

2. force to learn: to make people learn or assimilate things, often without fully understanding them, that they might reject if given the choice
