Definition:
 
1. public sign: a sign in a public place giving information, instructions, or a warning

2. written announcement: a written or printed announcement or statement of information, often displayed on a board or wall, or published in a newspaper or magazine

3. warning: advance warning or notification of something

4. period of warning: the period of time between the giving of a warning or notification and its taking effect
