Mich·i·gan [ míshigən ]state in the northern United States, consisting of two peninsulas situated among four of the Great Lakes. It borders the Great Lakes, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Capital: Lansing. Population: 10,003,422 (2008 estimate).
