Kit·ty Hawk [ kíttee hàwk ] town in northeastern North Carolina, on the Atlantic Ocean. On nearby Kill Devil Hill, the Wright brothers engaged in successful glider and airplane experiments between 1900 and 1903. It is the site of the Wright Brothers National Memorial.
