1. city on the Clyde River, southwestern Scotland. An industrial and commercial center, it has a cathedral and three universities. Population: 578,700 (2001 estimate).
2. city in southern Kentucky, northeast of Barren River Lake, east of Bowling Green and near Mammoth Cave National Park. Population: 14,062 (2005 estimate).
