gla·cis [ gla s, glássee, gláyssiss ] (plural gla·cis)

Definition:
 
1. gentle incline: a slope, especially one that is not very long or steep

2. defensive slope: a slope in front of a fortification designed to make it easier to fire on attacking forces

3. neutral territory: a stretch of neutral ground between two opposing or warring forces

4. military
