Etruria

E·tru·ri·a [ i trree ə ] ancient region on the Northwestern coast of peninsular Italy, where the Etruscan civilization flourished between about 800 and 300 bc. The region occupied roughly the same area as present-day Tuscany and part of Umbria, and at its greatest extent stretched from the Alps to the Tiber River.
