Ethiopia

E·thi·o·pi·a [ thee ṓpee ə ] landlocked country in northeastern Africa, separated from the Red Sea by Eritrea and Djibouti, and from the Gulf of Aden by Somalia. It is the oldest independent country in Africa.

Capital: Addis Ababa.
Population: 78,254,090 (2008 estimate).
Area: 1,133,380 sq km (437,600 sq mi)
