Ca·nav·er·al, Cape [ kə návvərəl ] cape in Brevard County, Florida, situated on the eastern coast of the Canaveral peninsula. It is the home of the John F. Kennedy Space Center and has been the launching site of U.S. crewed space flights since 1961.
