transitive verb  (past and past participle o·ver·load·ed, present participle o·ver·load·ing, 3rd person present singular o·ver·loads)
Definition:
 
1. put excessive load on something: to put too large or heavy a load on somebody or something or in something

2. overburden somebody: to give somebody too much work, stress, or other difficulty

3. fuse electrical system: to use more current than an electrical system can handle, e.g. by using too many electrical appliances simultaneously
