overdrive

Definition:
 
1. highest engine gear: the highest gear in the engine of a motor vehicle that is used at high speeds for fuel economy and to save engine wear

2. extra hard level of activity: a particularly intense and productive mode of activity, usually possible only for short periods ( informal )
