Definition:
 
1. transitive verb conquer problem: to struggle successfully against a difficulty or disadvantage

2. transitive verb make somebody helpless: to make somebody incapacitated or helpless, or break down somebody's normal self-control ( usually passive )

3. transitive and intransitive verb defeat somebody: to defeat somebody or something, especially in a conflict or competition
