Definition:
 
1. on facing side: positioned so as to face somebody or something from the other side of an intervening space
on the opposite side of the room
at the opposite end of the street

2. facing away: pointing, facing, or moving away from each other

3. totally different: different from or contrary to something or each other in every respect
She thought the plan workable, I took the opposite view.
