Omer

O·mer [ ṓmər ]

weeks after Passover: in Judaism, a seven-week period between the second day of Passover and the first day of Shavuoth, observed as a period of mourning, except on one day. Omer is named after the custom of offering an omer or sheaf of barley as a sacrifice in the Temple on the first day of this period.
